The Guernsey Swimming Club is proud to have 3 swimmers among the small team that travelled to Trinidad at the beginning of the week. The opening ceremony took place on Friday 4th August and the swimming starts on Sunday 6th.
Hannah Kennedy, Luke Le Cras and Joshua Dunning have been acclimatising with the team in Trinidad this week with the rest of the team. All 3 swimmers were part of Guernsey’s really successful Island Games team. Luke is also one of the flag bearers at the Opening Ceremony.
This is a great opportunity for these young swimmers who will swim against some of the best 18 and under athletes from around the home nations including, Australia, New Zealand and England. Its going to be a high-class competition and whilst it is a very big step up for them, it is also very exciting for them and a stepping stone for their swimming future.
