The 2022 BWCI Open Castle Charity Swim supported three local charities; Les Bourgs Hospice, Guernsey Welfare Service and GROW Ltd.
The annual event attracted over 570 swimmers to take on the challenge in aid of charity. Islanders paid a minimum £5 entry fee, meaning that around £3,000 was raised for local charities.
We are extremely grateful to the events sponsors – BWCI Group. BWCI also provided bottled water and light snacks at the finish for everyone to enjoy. Medals were also presented to all participants as well as their keepsake memento caps.
Mike Banfield became the oldest participant, for the second year, to be awarded with the Bill Green Memorial Trophy at the age of 90.
We would like to thank everyone who participated in the event and we look forward to welcoming you again next year.
