Eight Guernsey Swimming Club swimmers took part in the senior weekend of the Hampshire County Swimming Championships at the Winchester Sports & Leisure Centre on 7 and 8 February 2026.
Emma Bourgaize competed in the 50m butterfly, 200m Individual Medley and 50m freestyle. She swam and reached the finals in the 100m butterfly, 100m freestyle, 50m breaststroke.
It was a busy weekend for Scarlett-Rose Foss who raced in seven events, the 100m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 50m Butterfly, 200m Individual Medley and 200m backstroke and she reached the finals in the 100m backstroke
Grace King entered the 50m, 100m and 200m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly and 200m Individual Medley. She reached the finals of the 100m Breaststroke, and achieved a bronze in the finals of the 50m Breaststroke. The 200m Breaststroke was heat declared winners, in which Grace brought another bronze to the team tally.
Tara Kennedy and Isla Rault both competed in the 50m, 100m Backstroke with Isla also swimming the 200m Backstroke.
Sam Cann raced the 50m, 100m and 200m Freestyle and 200m Breaststroke events, and brought home bronze in the Men/Open 16 years old 50m and 100m breaststroke.
Corey de Jersey competed in the 50m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly and 200m Breaststroke. He also reached finals in the 100m Breaststroke.
Sam Dunning competed in the 50m, 100m and 200m Backstroke, he achieved personal best long course times in all.
Head Coach, Heather Jackson commented ‘the swimmers should all be proud of what they have achieved this weekend. They swam to the best of their abilities and delivered great swims. They supported each other, demonstrating a great team spirit over the course of the competition.’
