Athletes Charlie-Joe Hallett, Ronny Hallett, and Chloe Bown, who have dual membership with the Guernsey Swimming Club, delivered outstanding performances at the South West Regional Championships, returning with a haul of medals and personal bests.
Ronny Hallett impressed across multiple events, securing three individual medals and contributing to team relay success. Ronny claimed silver in the 50m breaststroke and bronze in the 100m breaststroke, but the standout moment came in the 50m freestyle, where he stormed to an unexpected silver in a personal best time of 23.70 seconds. He also helped secure two team relay silvers in the 4x100m freestyle and 4x100m medley events.
Charlie-Joe Hallett had a golden weekend in the breaststroke events, taking home gold in both the 50m and 100m races and silver in the 200m. He also competed in the 4x100m medley relay, delivering a blistering 1:02.61 split on the breaststroke leg to help the team secure bronze. He also contributed to the 4x100m freestyle relay.
Chloe Bown showcased her endurance and versatility with a dominant performance in the 400m freestyle, winning gold in a time of 4:22.84. Just half an hour later, she returned to the pool to lead off the A team in the 4x200m freestyle relay, clocking an impressive 2:04.67 and helping the team to a first-place finish. On the final day, Chloe anchored the B team in the 4x100m medley relay with a strong 57.60 freestyle leg, contributing to a second-place overall finish.
Club Head Coach Heather Jackson praised the trio, saying: “Ronny, Charlie-Joe and Chloe impressed over the weekend with their performances—showing their dedication to the sport as well as proving to be outstanding sporting role models for our swimmers at the Club.”
