Guernsey Swimming Club swimmers Emma Bourgaize and Sam Cann showcased their talent at the Swim England South East Summer Championships over the May Bank Holiday weekend. Competing in the Wycombe Leisure Centre 50m pool, both swimmers delivered impressive performances against top-tier competition.

Sam kicked off his competition with an impressive 50m breaststroke, narrowly missing out on the final by 0.01 of a second. He carried his strong breaststroke form into the 100m event, where he successfully reached the final. he also took part in the 50m butterfly and 200m breaststroke.

Emma delivered an exceptional series of swims, showcasing her versatility across multiple events in the 50m and 100m races in butterfly, freestyle, and breaststroke, alongside the 200m Individual Medley. Her outstanding performances secured her spots in the finals for both the 50m and 100m on both the butterfly and freestyle, as well as the 50m breaststroke.

Matt Butt of Guernsey Swimming Club: These Regional Swimming Championships are a high-level event and extremely competitive. Both swimmers rose to the occasion and swam brilliantly.
