Congratulations to the Guernsey Swimming Club Commonwealth swimmers Laura Le Cras, Samuel Lowe, Charlie-Joe and Ronny Hallett. They produced some excellent swims in this prestigious competition making both Guernsey and the GSC tremendously proud of them.
Laura excelled herself making the semi-finals in the 50m Breaststroke and two finals with the ladies 4 x 100m freestyle and medley relay’s. Samuel set 4 new personal best times as well swimming in the heats and the final in the men’s 4 x 100 medley. Charlie-Joe and Ronny swam some excellent individual events and were part of the men’s and mixed 4 x 100 medley relay finals.
All of the swimmers had an amazing time and it was quite an overwhelming experience at the new Sandwell pool in Birmingham meeting swimmers from all over the Commonwealth as well as Olympic, World and Commonwealth champions in all disciplines. It was extremely exciting to finish with both the Men’s and Ladies relay teams making the finals in the last two events to conclude the Commonwealth swimming.
