South East Regional Swimming Championships (14 & under) 2nd Weekend

Tallulah-Mae Rautenbach started the second weekend of the South East Regional Championships with the 1500m freestyle having only previously competed this event as short course (25m pool) Tallulah had a strong even swim gaining valuable experience in the distance events. Tallulah then put in some outstanding swims on to qualify for the 50m backstroke and 100m freestyle finals improving her times from the heats to finish joint 2nd in the 50m backstroke and 3rd in the 100m freestyle and was 1st reserve for the 200m freestyle. As a result of her successful swims, Tallulah is now ranked 9th in Britain in her respective age group for the 50m freestyle and 11th for the 50m backstroke. She is also ranked in the top 30 for several other events.

Team mate Emma Bourgaize also had some exceptional swims although just missing out of the finals by just 0.01 of a second she improved her entry times and was 1st reserve for the finals. Emma is also placed 17th in the British Swimming rankings for her 50m freestyle which has resulted in her being invited to the English Nationals to be held in Sheffield in August. Emma is in also ranked in the top 30 British swimmers for some of her other events.

Making the final in the 50m breaststroke, Samuel Cann also had a great weekend with a very close and exciting race finishing 7th overall. Samuel also made reserve for the 200m individual medley and had a strong performance in the 50m freestyle.
