Silver for Guernsey Swimming Club swimmer Sarah Whitchurch at the Para Swimming Nationals held in Manchester Aquatic Centre this weekend. Sarah had a good weekend competing at the prestigious long course event producing two new personal best times.
The highlight of the weekend being the 50m backstroke event having got a good start was level with freestyle world silver medallist Suzanna Hext for most of the swim, with Suzanna just getting to the finish touch before Sarah in a new personal best time, both swimmers being just out of the British Record.
Sarah has had a great year this year improving on all of her disciplines and is looking forward to meeting and competing against Suzanna and the other British Olympic swimmers at the PARA international in April next year.
