This year the club chose a different method to elect the Club Captains. All second hour swimmers were able to vote for their preferred captains out of a list of nominees. Swimmers could nominate themselves based on the criteria agreed by the committee.
The role of the Club Captains
Club Captains are expected to work together throughout the year to achieve the following:
- To make themselves known to all swimmers as Club Captain
- To promote and assist in developing a culture of swimming within the club that encourages success at every level
- To attend and support Guernsey Swimming Club swimmers at all local events and provide support to other swimmers at this events which they themselves are attending overseas
- To provide a positive role model and to uphold all Club policies and protocols
- To act as liaison between the swimmers and the committee and coaches
- To attend quarterly committee meetings to representatives the swimmers, to put forward any ideas from the swimmers and to provide feedback to the swimmers as relevant and appropriate
- To assist and be innovative in development and promotion of the club
- To assist and support the committee in their roles as appropriate
The votes were counted and verified. The Club Captains for 2019 are Charlie-Joe Hallett and Eileen Chapman.
