A talented squad of 22 Guernsey Swimming Club (GSC) athletes delivered a spectacular performance at the Winchester Summer Splash Meet on 6 and 7 June 2026. The long-course 50-metre event provided vital big-pool experience for the club’s younger competitive squads, including debutants Molly Boatwright-Smith, Hugo Cann, and Henry Hodder.
The GSC powerhouse dominated the podium across multiple age categories:
It was the first time Molly Boatwright-Smith, Hugo Cann and Henry Hodder took part in a long-course meet.
Molly in the 9 years old category achieved silver in the 100m freestyle and 200m Individual Medley and bronze in the 200m freestyle.
In the Girls 10 years old, Poppy Sargeant reached gold in the 50m and 200m backstroke, 100m and 200m breaststroke, 200m freestyle and 200m Individual Medley, silver in the 50m butterfly and bronze in the 50m breaststroke. Amélie Smith produced some great swims and achieved silver in the 100m freestyle which was the last event of the meet.
For the Boys 10 years old, Hugo Cann achieved gold in the 100m butterfly, silver in the 200m breaststroke and bronze in his 50m backstroke and 200m Individual Medley. James Eley brought home a gold for the 100m and 200m breaststroke and 100m freestyle, silver for the 50m and 200m backstroke and bronze for the 100m backstroke.
In the 11 years old, Aaron Beak brought home a bronze for the 50m and 100m backstroke, Isaac Thomasson took the bronze in the 200m backstroke and 400m freestyle. Fellow swimmersHannah Lanyon, Steph Neethling, George Foote and Henry Hodder demonstrated great team spirit and produce some great swims.
In the 12 years old 50m backstroke, it was a 1, 2, 3 for the GSC girls, with Lexi Rault bringing gold, Charlotte Eley taking silver and Lily Smith achieving bronze.
Charlotte also took home gold for the 50m freestyle, silver 400m freestyle and 200m Individual Medley and bronze in the 50m and 100m breaststroke while Lexi Rault brought home bronze in the 50m and 100m freestyle. Lily Smith achieved, also in this category, gold in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke and bronze in the 50m freestyle.
Jude Marley, in the Boys 12 years old, achieved gold in the 400m freestyle and silver in the 100m breaststroke and bronze for the 200m breaststroke.
In the 13 years old category, Gabriella Oudhof took bronze in the 50m backstroke. Lola Williams achieved gold in the 50m backstroke, 50m and 200m breaststroke, 200m and 400m freestyle and 200m Individual Medley, silver in the 50m and 100m breaststroke and 100m butterfly and bronze in her 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle. For the Boys, Adam Beak took the gold in the 50m freestyle, the silver in the 200m butterfly and 200m freestyle, and bronze in the 100m butterfly, 50m and 100m backstroke.
In the 14 years old, Isla Rault brought home gold for the 50m backstroke, and 200m freestyle, silver for the 50m freestyle and 100m backstroke while Kadee Truffitt achieved gold in the 200m Independent Medley, silver in the 50m backstroke and bronze in the 50m freestyle. For the Boys, Corey de Jersey brought home gold for 50m breaststroke and freestyle and the silver for the 100m breaststroke,50m backstroke and 200m freestyle, team mate Sam Dunning took the silver for the 100m and 200m backstroke and 100m freestyle and bronze for the 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke.
