Guernsey Swimmer Club swimmers Emma Bourgaize and Sam Cann travelled to Sheffield on the 14 and 15 March 2026 to take part in the City of Sheffield Swim Squad Premier Meet with their affiliated Club, Tadcaster York Sport Swim Squad. This Level 1 meet took place in the renowned Ponds Forge International Sports Centre 50m pool.
Both swimmers competed to improve their qualifying times for the South East Summer Regionals in May and to try to obtain the elusive qualifying times for the Summer British and English Nationals.
Emma took part in the 50m and 100m breaststroke, 50m and 100m butterfly, and the 50m and 100m freestyle.
Sam took part in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke as well as in the 200m Individual Medley.
Head Coach, Heather Jackson commented: “Emma and Sam performed brilliantly over the weekend, against fierce competition. Both swimmers, while swimming for Tadcaster, swam their best and gained valuable experience.”
