Two Guernsey Swimming Club swimmers, Olly Stephens and Samuel Cann, attended the Winchester Sparkler Open Meet on 17 and 18 December 2022.
Both swimmers were there to gain some valuable Long Course swimming experience ahead of the 2023 Hampshire County Championships.
It was Olly’s first time swimming in a 50m pool and he took part in 8 events. He achieved a silver for the Boys 13 years old 200m freestyle and a bronze for the 200m backstroke as well as setting up some good times.
Samuel competed in 5 events and brought home the Boys 12 years old gold 100m breaststroke, silver for the 50m breaststroke and 200m Individual Medley, as well as bronze in the 50m backstroke.
Both boys were extremely pleased with their results over a very busy weekend.
