Samuel Lowe and Laura Le Cras attended both weekends of the South East Regionals at the K2 centre in Crawley. Samuel gained 7 times to be able to attend and gained great experience swimming in a 50 meter pool with some good swims setting all new long course times. He had a great 200 IM swim with a 2nd PB placing 3rd in his heat.
Laura had 10 qualifying times and made the finals for her 50 free placing 5th from 36 swimmers. She also made the finals for the 200IM. Her best race was her 100 free where she made the finals in 2nd place in the heats to swim the final in a great time of 1:01.51 to take the gold medal. Her 400 IM was also a great swim in a long course time of 5:28.05 which was a 14 second PB.
Charlie-Joe Hallett attended the 15 years and over weekend of the South East Regionals. This was Charlie-Joe’s first experience of Southerns. He swam in the 200 Breast and gained a long course 4 second PB and placed 14th overall having gone into the race ranked 21st. Charlie-Joe has said that the experience of going has inspired him to train even harder and aim to make the grade next year at Southerns in more events.
