Jersey Swimming Club held their Summer Graded meet at the weekend, due to the short notice of the meet and very limited seats available only 14 swimmers were able to attend the meet, flying over in the morning returning via the boat the same evening with fingers crossed that it was actually sailing.
The 14 young swimmers aged between 9 and 13 years swam 93 races between them bringing back 7 gold medals, 13 Silver medals and 5 bronze medals, with an incredible 57 PB’S (personal best times) between them.
There were some outstanding swims Olivia Gibbs who has recently started competitive swimming knocked an amazing 24 Seconds off her 100m freestyle time and Lennon Williams 19 second off his time. Flo Wenlock and Lennon Williams were awarded the JSC Summer Sprint Meet Club Discretionary Award each club nominated two swimmers taking into consideration their Level of support given to their team and team officials, behaviour poolside and on the day overall, effort and attitude, wearing of Club kit / colours, and last but not least their achievement in relation to ability.
Following an outstanding performance Veronica Chapman was awarded the JSC Summer Sprint Meet Best Trophy. This was well deserved as Veronica swam 8 events achieving 5 PB’s and bringing back 6 Gold medals and 2 Silver medals, having piped her sister Nadine to the post in some very competitive and close races.

Emma Battle (10) swam 7 events achieving an 8 second PB’s in her 100m freestyle and winning a silver medal she was 9th 50 Breaststroke 1:02.20, 7th 100 IM 1:52.89, 14th 50 Backstroke 56.39, 11th 100m breaststroke 2:19.26, 12th 100m freestyle1:48.33, 2nd 50 Butterfly 54.43, 13th 50 Freestyle 50.68.
