Guernsey Swimming Club’s Charlie-Joe Hallett, 15, attended the Swim England South East Regional Championships and competed in 7 events at the Wycombe Leisure Centre. Hallett produced long course personal best times in all of his events while attending the 3 day meet.
In the 50m breaststroke Hallett raced to the finish in a time of 32.38 reaching the final where he finished 6th. Moving onto the 100m breaststroke he produced a new long course personal best time of 1:11.87.
Hallett swam a new personal best time of 26.18 in the 50m freestyle and placed 6th in the 1500m freestyle in a personal best long course time of 17:30.02.
He swam in both the 200m and 400m Individual Medley in times of 2:20.36 and 4:59.75 respectively placing 7th in the heat declared 400IM and reaching the final in the 200IM where he came 8th.
Hallett competed in the 200m breaststroke heats and finished in a time of 2:37.08. He made the finals and knocked almost another two seconds off to touch the wall in 2:35.18 finishing 5th.
He gained valuable experience competing in a 50m pool at this meet and against other swimmers in the UK.
