Charlie-Joe Hallett and Laura Le Cras both attended a long 4 day meet at the Portsmouth Northsea Easter Open Meet at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth.
Charlie preformed well and produced some good PBs in 7 out of 9 events. His highlights of the weekend were reaching two of the breaststroke open finals. In the 50m he swam a 32.54 improving his entered time by 1.35 seconds to come 6th and in the 200m he swam 2.39.10 improving his time by 2.14 and placing 6th.Charlie received the bronze medal for his 200m breaststroke.
Laura swam 9 events with her 50m fly being a fantastic long course PB of 29.92 making the finals in 1st place, to finish the finals with the bronze medal. Laura swam the 100m breaststroke in a time of 1:20.14, a personal best of 4.02 seconds, placing 4th in the finals. She made the finals in the 200m IM taking the silver medal. Her 50m breaststroke was also a PB in a new time of 36.26 taking the silver medal. Her 200m breaststroke was a PB of 9.46 seconds swimming a new time of 2:54.10. Her final swim of the weekend was her 50m freestyle taking the gold medal in a new long course PB of 27.99.
It has been a very useful long course preparation for them both ready for South East Regionals.
